I'm trying to remember when the anime split off...

It was after Hughes death...but...<_< crap.

And there was basically a whole ARC that involved Roy trying to avenge Hughes. >_>, and...

I don't want to spoil anything =X

You wouldn't be spoiling me, I've seen every one except when Envy killed Hughes. Even the movie, it was cool. It had Hitler in it.

In the movie they were locked in combat and Wrath was about to be eaten so he used alchemy to kill Gluttony along with himself so Al could go find Ed.
