Official Elder Scrolls Topic

Well, me and Banryx have recently taken a like to the game, and I was wondering if any of you like it too. If you've played it, let's talk, and if you haven't, try it out. I almost gauruntee you won't be disappointed. It's only for PS3 and Xbox 360 though. Their fifth one should come out in '10.
Heartless Banryx

Its for the PC too. Over 100 hours of gameplay, and complete customization of character. So many sidequests, you can even be a vampire. I don't know why, but I've been completely obssessed with vampirism lately.
General Ceyrox

I wish the customazation was more like Soul Calibur, though, most of the characters turn out ugly.
Baron Loki

So what's this game like?
General Ceyrox

Have you ever played Fallout?

If not, it's like a middle-ages game, you know back in those days. But it's completely custom. You can ignore the main story and just branch off and do others. You can customize your character, and make him say what you want. (It has to be on the list though) Any weapons, armor, you can steal things, buy houses or horses, kill people, betray people, or just.... whatever. And the world is huge! Like three times LOZ, huge. No joke.
Baron Loki

WOW.
General Ceyrox

Unfortunatly it has it's glitches. And the fighting isn't great. It was made in '06. A new one is supposed to come out in '10. It's sweet.
Baron Loki

Ah.
General Ceyrox

Oh. It's supposed to be in a place called Skyrim. You could look it up on Wikipedia for more detail but it's basically a province above Cyrodil, which is where Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion takes place. It's snowy! And there's supposed to be a civil war.
Dread Abyss

Yup, it's a great game. Though I don't have it, I made an account on Ceyrox's game and I really liked it. I'm an Argonian, a lizard-person. The fighting system is ok, but it can still be pretty fun; fighting is probably the most fun when you're good at magicka so that you can burn people, freeze them, or poison them.

And the game is great for chaos because you can kill anyone, which means you can go into a crowded area and start burning people and attacking guards... And the guards' horses that attack you for some reason.
General Ceyrox

Yes. Unfortunatly the chaos usually results in the death.... of you.
Lord Duality

Sounds interesting. But I don't have a PS3 or XBOX360.
Baron Loki

Weren't you listening to Banryx?  It's also for PC.
General Ceyrox

Yup. And unlike the PS3 and Xbox 360 that just have two expansion packs, the PC has a bunch more! There not as big as the other ones, but there's alot more.
Dread Abyss

The PC also has the most cheats and glitches. Though the glitches are easily fixed.

Oblivion is quite awesome, though I somehow managed to get a bounty of $1040 in the Shivering Isles. Oh, and I have just two more fights until I become the Grand Champion of the arena!
Heartless Banryx

Aren't you still in the Fringe?
General Ceyrox

Abyss (I'm assuming you now have made it to Sheogorath), did you know his gaurds are Daedra? And that's not really Sheogorath, it's him possesing a mortal.
Dread Abyss

I'm classified as a Visitor. I left after I looted the corpse of a man that valiantly died in battle... By me clubbing him after he thought he was safe. Is the Wizard's Fury spell any good, I'm almost at that quest in the Mages Guild. Also I tried the main storyline. It. Is. Hard.

PS; I have a weightless Daedric mace!
General Ceyrox

That spell is the best. It's Banryx's main one. And the main story's only hard because the enemys are now leveled cause you waited so long. It has some benefits though.
Heartless Banryx

True. BTW, that man you killed, you'll be arrested for killing  him once you breach the Fringe.
General Ceyrox

It's actually good. The gaurds take you all the way to New Sheoth.
Dread Abyss

Yup, I just got the spell. However my Destruction level isn't high enough. I've been working on my Conjuration and Illusion, right now my Conjuration is level 61 and the only good summon was a Flame Atronach. I'm looking forward to getting my Illusion up so that I can use Silence. Do you guys know how to make permanent zero-weight bound weapons?

Also, I found an awesome way to get my bounty lifted without spending money or going to a Thieves Guild member. All I have to do is raise a Guard's disposition up to 100 (which I can easily do with a charm spell I made) before he confronts me. When I was in the Mages Guild I was fighting my Flame Atronach to raise my Blunt skill and for some reason it lead to the Guards coming and killing a Scholar and Apprentice. Plus one of the Guards was actually fighting the other one and the other one didn't fight back, he just walked away.

By the way, Banryx, what level are your Intelligence and Wisdom?
General Ceyrox

In fact I do know how to get weightless armor/weapons. I learned just today. But our PS3 is in the shop, so we have to wait till next weekend, optimistically. All you have to do is get a (whatever weapon/armor you want) and once it gets damaged in battle, have someone repair it. Then when you drop it, it's weightless and never goes away. The only downside for me is that I use a longsword, yet the bound sword is a claymore. So I can't get a weightless longsword. And I just learned how good Alchemy really is. A master of alchemy with the best materials and four restore health ingredients can make a Heal 559 points on self potion! Alternately, they can create a restore magic 1629 points on self! Isn't that insane!

Also something disturbing, the clerk at All Things Alchemical in Skingrad is a necrophile!
Dread Abyss

So he likes bodies. I think Handy Manni M. had a problem. He was going to turn me into a slug! So I silenced him and hacked away with my Daedric mace. Unfortunately I couldn't kill him like I did with all the other Necromancers. Since I'm a Master of sneak I can easily get behind them without them noticing and hit them once with a mace then shoot a damage life by 60 points spell I made. They're so easy! I looted some of their bodies before they even hit the floor. So when I fought M. I had to silence him, then paralyze him, then slaughter him. I really like his robe, it matches my Argonian's skin color.

So now I've finished the Mages Guild, I'm the Grand Champion (hooray for an easy 1000+ gold every week!), and Martin will follow me almost anywhere. Just for fun I'm going to do The Killing Field quest with my five lackeys and a Flame Atronach.

Have you killed Umbra? All you need is a good paralyze spell or potion, which you can probably do because you're a Master of Alchemy. I should probably get my Alchemy up, which should be easier with Traven's chest. Alchemy seems really useful, even though I have over 100 strong potions of sorcery.
General Ceyrox

First of all, Abyss, or PS3's in the shop and all the data was erased, so we have to start new records. And second, I was never a master of alchemy, I was a Journeyman. That's the highest I got it up.
Heartless Banryx

Alchemy is hard to get up... though I have(had) like fifty potions of sorcery too. I love the Staff of Worms, don't you!
Dread Abyss

Sorry, I didn't know at the time. My mistake.

Yes, the Staff of Worms is pretty awesome. In fact I recently visited the Echo Cave again so that I could find a Grand Soul, luckily I found a Grand Soul gem in a box and I found a Daedric helmet. It's fun to revisit caves, especially when completely chameleonized. By the way, does the Staff of Worms work on Dremora?

I just spent around 6000 gold on enchanting some armor I got (I found a cuirass of Chameleon that was chainmail so I enchanted some mithril armor), now I'm completely invisible, though the Guards can still find me to stay "Stop, you violated the law!" Though the Guards can find me to yell, when we fight they immediately lose sight of me and I can stay crouched to get x6 damage for every shot.

I don't even have 200 magicka, just 160. When you remake your character, Banryx, how much magicka do you expect him to have?
Heartless Banryx

My first character is a Nord, and right now I'm trying to balance Magicka and a warrior, or a battlemage. Right now, I'd guess he has about 150 magicka, but I'm not sure. I'm not very high in intelligence, its just that I picked the Apprentice that, sadly, comes with a 100% weakness to magicka as well. But, then again, my second record I'm making a Khajiit that's going to be all stealth and assassination.
Dread Abyss

You have a lot of magicka already, impressive, though it's too bad you're vulnerable to magic. You could benefit from an enchanted ring on a priest in one of the Thieves Guild quests that grantss 100% resistance to fire. The priest is in the Turning a Blind Eye quest and is conviently located beside Savilla's Stone, he isn't hard and you can easily make the turret gem do most of the damage. Also the Gray Cowl gives you 200 Detect life, 200 Feather, and +25 to Sneak in addition to the Cowl's obvious trait.

As for the Khajiit idea, sounds good. I suggest enchanting five pieces of equipment with Chameleon, you're completely invisible and you can interact with things. The Thieves Guild last quest was pretty easy with full Chameleon, but otherwise...
Heartless Banryx

Yeah, I decided against the whole "Khajiit" idea. I decided I may as well focus on my main character.
General Ceyrox

The highest you can possibly EVER get your macicka is like 1124 or something. You do it by making an Altmer, with an Atronach birthsign, get his Intelligience to 100, fortify eight pieces of armor with a transcendent sigil stone, which boosts magicka 50 every item, and various quests where your intelligence can be put over 100. Isn't that insane!
Heartless Banryx

It would be pretty hard.
Dread Abyss

Now that I finally have a full set of Daedric armor (I had a lot of trouble finding the gauntlets so I killed some chick in full Daedric armor to get the gauntlets) I can enchant some of it with fortify attributes. Currently I'm a Journeyman of both Conjuration and Illusion as well as a Master of Sneak and Security, my Acrobatics is also Master while I'm wearing some special shoes I got in a Theives Guild quest. What quests increase Intelligence because I desperately need my Intelligence increased? (My Argononian is the bumbling idiot of Cyrodil!)

A Khajiit sounds cool, but what's special about them? An Argonian is already good at Sneak and Security, as well as the ability to breathe underwater; what special attributes do Khajiit have (besides being jerks to Argonians )?
Heartless Banryx

Uh, Dark Brotherhood Blessing of the Night Mother, and I dunno many others. So, you're on your own.

Khajiit have night eye as a lesser power and can see in the dark for no magic. Also, they are quick naturally and good at sneak naturally, as well as pure awesome.

Also, did  you know they announced Elder Scrolls 5 as coming out in 2010? Like Officially.
General Ceyrox

It's gonna be tight yall! And I officially love sneak. I've been using it alot more lately, and it's uses are unlimited! Sneaking past enemies, and dealing 6x damage!
Heartless Banryx

I personally love Dawnfang/Duskfang!
General Ceyrox

I found it. Abyss, look it up on UESP. It's like the best sword ever. It rivals Umbra.
Heartless Banryx

True, but enchanting your own sword has its own charm.
Lord Duality

Elder Scrolls was cool. I liked it. I played it. It was fun.

But the AI SUCKED! They didn't even run from the invisible lizard.

But anyways, I liked it. Still, it won't find its way into my house anytime soon.
Heartless Banryx

Which one, Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, or Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind?
Lord Duality

Oblivion.
Heartless Banryx

Strange. I honestly think the AI in that game is pretty good, well, as far as AI goes. I know what you mean in lack of AI though. Still, with about 200 hours of gameplay its a nearly limitless game, don't you think?
Lord Duality

I think, from what I saw, It was very good. But yeah, some of the AI bugged me. The invisible man was one, Stupid Lizards (Max used smite of rage on one. He killed a man. And then promptly exclaimed "Someone has been murdured"), The gaurds will not defend themselves till they have captured you, Crazy ladies fist fighting a swordsman. I thought there were a few screwed up codes in there.

But aside from my little rant, it was huge. Really hard to pick up and play. Then again, I ain't a first person guy. Pickpocketing was fun. Best Thieving aspect I have ever seen in a game. Spells were fun. Monsters were rather intelligent. I rode a horsie   . So it was great.

((STUPID LIZARDS!!!))
Heartless Banryx

Well, Abyss tends to play in first person, I honestly hate it. There's an option to play in third person, though.
Lord Duality

Well, that tends to be diffcult when chameleon is on. I tried it and I couldn't see my lizard man. Can you pick up things in 3rd person?
Heartless Banryx

You can pick up things, but its harder. I tend to fight, walk around, sleep, and do almost everything in third person.  But talking to people and picking up objects I do in first person. I suppose I have a moderate differential.
Lord Duality

Eh, I guess it's all down to the variables.

"We are the variables Jack"
Dread Abyss

I tend to use Third person when I'm fighting, sometimes while I'm sneaking, and when I'm walking around smaller or open areas. I use First person when I'm casting spells, most of the time while I'm sneaking, and when I need to talk to someone/grab something/activate something.

I stopped using Chameleon 'cause I got bored with it and the AI idiocy that came with it. I'm strong enough to just walk around in Zealot robes and be fine (or Sheogorath's Regalia while I'm in the SI). I'm currently trying to do the Knights of the Nine quest where I confront Umaril.
Heartless Banryx

Have you done pilgrimage? Its an annoying quest finding the wayshirnes, but I think its worth it for the greater power Pilgrim's Grace, and some vision where you're above Imperial City.
Dread Abyss

Yeah, I HATED that. From now on I always where the Cowl when commiting a crime. Anyways I finished The Knights of the Nine, it was fun. Umaril was pretty weak, I actually thought the Aurorans were tougher than him.
Heartless Banryx

Yeah, I loved fighting above Imperial City, though. That was my favorite part.
Dread Abyss

Yeah, the prospect of fighting in the clouds was cool and I thought Umaril himself looked pretty cool. I did a quest involving escorting a Count Indarys' son out of an Oblivion gate by seizing the Sigil Stone and keeping the idiot alive. Because of the Crusader's armor it was actually pretty easy and pretty fun; it took a while because I had to stop and heal them at times as well as wait to regenerate my Magicka, but it was pretty rewarding.

The Imperial City has the last Oblivion gate I need to close for Allies For Bruma and I can continue with the Main Quest!
Heartless Banryx

I didn't know there was an Imperial city gate.
Dread Abyss

There was a gate by the Imperial City, but you aren't rewarded with soldiers if you close it. Apparently Ocato is more interested in avoiding the whole situation altogether.

I'm going to redo the Great Gate until I can find the shock ring again and/or until I can save Jauffre. But before I can start the battle I MUST get the Adoring Fan to follow me to his death.
Heartless Banryx

Bringing the Adoring fan into Oblivion is risky.
Lord Duality

Dude? How, that is one annoying kid.
Dread Abyss

I'm not bringing him into it, I'm bringing him in front of the gate by all of the deadly monsters.

Have you finished The Ultimate Heist yet, Banryx?
Heartless Banryx

Yes, and I completed the Dark Brotherhood.
Dread Abyss

Kudos. The rewards for the Ultimate Heist are worth it, especially if you want to do Knights of the Nine. I've sort of lost interest in the game after having completed the Main Quest.
Heartless Banryx

Yeah, but the Dark Brotherhood rewards kinda suck too, besides access to some unique spells, not that you can't make better ones in the spellmaking alter.
General Ceyrox

I think we all agree hands down Shivering Isles has all the best rewards.

By the way, I was looking on UESP. No real news yet, but a new website called elderscrollsonline was created, though it has nothing on it yet. I hope they don't make it a MMORPG.
Heartless Banryx

That's old news, really.
General Ceyrox

Well it wasn't posted here.

Maybe the site is just indicating the next game will have online cooperative/competative and those are for rankings or something.
