The law-suits haven't affected any of the manga I read or read (past tense). In the Death Note manga there's a description of every shinigami, though most of them never did anything.

Look up Rave, KHII, they were removed because of Tokyopop being over sensitive . SJ is fine with it though. -nibbles on cookie-
