Epics

I thought this might be fun as I'm currently writing an epic. Here we can post our epics and talk about what we think of them.
Lord Storms

I'm working on an epic project called The Kaitan Incarnations.
Dread Abyss

That sounds cool, good name. What's it about?
General Ceyrox

I've written three epics, but am off epics for good. Anyways, do we just discuss epics. Or do we actually post them here?
Colonel Banryx

Why would we post them here?
General Ceyrox

This website's alot faster than BZP.
Dread Abyss

Agreed. Though if we've already posted an epic we should link it here.
Colonel Banryx

Don't post epics here...
General Ceyrox

But BZP takes sooooooooo long to load!
Colonel Banryx

They're all on one page. And there are more people to review it there.
Dread Abyss

If you already have the epic posted on Bzpower, then link the page here. Not the whole epic.

Bzpower does take too long.
General Ceyrox

Not after six.
Colonel Banryx

Exactly.
Dread Abyss

Really? I didn't know it became better after six. Then again, I don't go onto Bzpower much. It's not as much fun as this website.
Colonel Banryx

I go on both. Have you read Reign of Shadows or Riddle of the Great Being's yet?
General Ceyrox

Agreed. But now that I'm a premier I'm basically obliged to go on.
Dread Abyss

Colonel Banryx wrote:

Yeah, I've read both. Reign of Shadows is my least favorite, considering it has Teridax and the Newva in it. I like Riddle of the Great Beings, it seems pretty interesting.
General Ceyrox

They all seem good. Empire of the Skrall is my favorite, with Reign of Shadows falling in second. It's not that riddle of the Great Beings is bad, but I love my old characters.
Dread Abyss

The reason I don't like Reign of Shadows is because of the old characters. They're all dead to me.
General Ceyrox

Really? All of them. Strange. You can't possibly hate them all, can you?
Dread Abyss

You're right, I still like the Piraka (including Vezon).
Lord Storms

I like most of the old characters, but not as many of the new ones.

RoS is my favorite serial because I'm nostalgic, then RotGBs because it has the mystery effect I've been craving, and then EotS is last because I don't like a story that lacks real villains.
General Ceyrox

I don't know Storms, those shapeshifters could easily make cool villains. Anyways, I think Greg will bring Zaktan back. He's Greg's favorite Piraka, so why would he be the only one to die? Something doesn't add up...
Lord Storms

Matoro was Greg's favorite Toa Mahri, and yet he was the only one to die. And he's never coming back.
Dread Abyss

Why are we talking about my epic's prologue in the Bzpower discussion and talking about Bzpower in the epics discussion?

So Storms, you never answered my question. What's your upcoming epic about?
General Ceyrox

Yeah... goosh!
Lord Storms

Different incarnations of Kaitan in different universes.  The different sagas never effect each other, though.

They are:

Kaitan of Blacka Nui
Kaitan of Mata Nui
Kaitan of Metru Nui
Kaitan of Daxia
Kaitan of Xia

Another project I'm planning is three sagas in three alt. universes using only canon characters.  The sagas are:

Dark Honor
Iron Fist and Twisted Blade
Of Hope and Freedom
Colonel Banryx

I wouldn't plan them out very far. I did that once... MISTAKE!
Lord Storms

Too late.  I've got detailed outlines on most of them already.
General Ceyrox

What's Blacka Nui?
Colonel Banryx

Lord Storms, Dragonmaster wrote:

That's too bad. I'm telling you, you'll end up regretting it. I find the best writing tool would be that you play out the story however the characters would react to each other. The best ideas are spontaneous and creative, not planned out.
Lord Storms

I didn't plan out the outlines.  They came to me when I was bored.

Blacka Nui is an island of my own creation.
Colonel Banryx

Not a very good name, though...
Lord Storms

Eh, I made it up randomly and it stuck.
Colonel Banryx

Really, it stuck? I'd change it immediately.
General Ceyrox

Meh, it's not terrible. Anyways, what's Blacka Nui like Storms?
Dread Abyss

Blacka Nui is Candyland, except with a different name. Plus, the candy eats YOU!

I haven't planned much out on Araya Nui, except I want certain creatures and people to fight. Unfortunately my computer has been down for the last week so I haven't been able to update my epic, but I plan on using Banryx's advice and make the prologue a bit different.
Lord Storms

Blacka Nui is based off of Mata Nui, except with 11 regions.  And more dangerous Rahi.
Dread Abyss

Neat. Are the other five regions for electricity, iron, magnetism, gravity, and plant life?

What rahi have you though of yet, Storms?
Lord Storms

Four of the regions are Plasma, Sonics, Plantlife, and Lightning.  The last one is the capital city and is trans-elemental, like Atero.
Colonel Banryx

I don't think Atero's transelemental, but whatever. Still, Blacka Nui's just such a weird name... wait, oh no, it's growing on me!
General Ceyrox

Would you mind going into more detail? It sounds interesting. Anyway... why'd you choose plasma? It's the suckiest element. I'll shoot you with plasma!  It's really the only use. Plus when are you going to find it in nature? So where would a plasma village be located anyway?
Lord Storms

Atero has members of all villages in it.

I picked plasma because of an interesting plot twist in the third epic.

I always pictured plasma as living in a prairie region for some odd reason, so that's where I put them.
Colonel Banryx

I decided the same thing, but after trying to use plasma as an element is stressful.
Lord Storms

Do you want me to tell you the plot twist?
Colonel Banryx

Sure.
Dread Abyss

Indeed.

I thought vacuums was a pretty awful element, until I thought of some pretty good ways I could use it. I prefer the name vortex to vacuums.
Lord Storms

Greg said that vacuums isn't a Toa or Skakdi element anyway.

I wanted one of the toa to betray his team, and I wanted him to have fire-ish powers, but I didn't want the Toa of Fire to be the traitor.  Therefore, Plasma was the only element there was to use.
General Ceyrox

But what really is a toa of plasma going to do besides shoot plasma, what other uses are there for it?
Colonel Banryx

Well GregF isn't very smart.

Also you can create your own element.
Dread Abyss

I've made ways to utilize the element of vacuums to its potential. Though I should probably rename it vortex...

Plasma is similar to fire because they're both hot, that's pretty much it. Plasma is incredibly hot, a fight against a toa of plasma would be pretty one-sided. But you may have thought of something that I haven't, Storms, so I can't say anything for sure yet.

I also created a custom element, sleep. It's an odd power, I'd rather not talk about it.
Lord Storms

According to Greg, anyone with the air element has the vacuum power.

"Plasma" is actually a state of matter, the only natural occuronces of which are fire and lightning (on Earth, that is.  It space, there are a few more).  Anyway, plasma is basically fire with more heat and a little less flame.

And I'm not using custom elements for KoBN because the series is designed to fit in with the official canon perfectly.  However, for KoMN I do use several custom elements.

Oh, and I never explained some of Blacka Nui's more dangerous creatures.  Well, three species of bat that inspired Antroz, Vamprah, and Chirox to take the forms they did in Karda Nui (and were actually created by those three) and three insects that were created by and inspired the forms taken by Krika, Gorast, and Bitil.  There are also four species of dragon.
General Ceyrox

Are you going to build any of those rahi?
Dread Abyss

According to Greg, anyone with the air element has the vacuum power.

They can create an air current that sucks things in, similar to a tornado. Greg made toa of vacuum sound like they just suck [air] and blow (). I have the element of the vortex act like black holes (a little, not much). The toa creates an area that absorbs things into its mass and then the toa can shoot it out of the vortex. Or, if the toa is talented enough, he can create suction in one area and then release it somewhere else; it allows toa of vacuum to have limited flight.
Colonel Banryx

Yes, Storms, he doesn't mean vacumm like air, it includes it, but it is not limited to it.
General Ceyrox

Yeah! And can't it suck in light or something?
Colonel Banryx

Vacuums can suck in anything. Except non-matter, excluding energy. It can even suck in energy.
Lord Storms

I see.  It still sounds more like a power than an element to me, but then again, so is Aether...
Colonel Banryx

I suppose it is, since he can only create and manipulate them, not absorb them... or can he?
Dread Abyss

Well, he can alter the strength, size, and focus of the vortexes. Plus he has various ways to release it. However, he can't absorb vortexes, since that's already their power.
Lord Storms

I 'spose it works.
Dread Abyss

Yup, I like the idea a lot. Plus Raethr can do something similar to force choke.
Lord Storms

How?
Dread Abyss

Raethr creates a strong vortex over someone's head and after absorbing some of the air around the person, it will start sucking the person up into the vortex. The vortex will continually suck in the air so the person will be unable to breathe. So the person will be hovering somewhat and be gasping for air; it's not as easy as force choke, but it would be cool.8)

Or he could just create a vortex in front of the person's face and he/she'll be unable to breathe.
Lord Storms

Sounds interesting.
Colonel Banryx

Wouldn't the person be sucked in.
General Ceyrox

Not if he makes it too small to.
Dread Abyss

Indubitably, Ceyrox!8)

I'm going to [try and] get the prologue finished today.
Colonel Banryx

Then it wouldn't be strong enough to suck air in.... indubitably, you!
General Ceyrox

But air has considerabely less mass than a person.
Dread Abyss

The air getting absorbed into the vortex would lift him up as well. Or, if that doesn't make sense, Raethr creates another vortex under the person that lets out the absorbed air.
Colonel Banryx

If it had just enough mass to absorb in air than to absorb in the person, the air would get sucked in rather slowly.
General Ceyrox

Okay, but there isn't much air to get sucked up.
Lord Storms

"Real world physics don't apply to BIONICLE, unless Protodermis was discovered yesterday and I wasn't told about it."

~GregF.
Colonel Banryx

"Shutup your ugly face, Storms!"~Me
Lord Storms

Lol.
Colonel Banryx

Ror.
Lord Storms

rawr.
Dread Abyss

Wat!
I bet no one knows what "wat" stands for.

I suppose the person would get sucked into the vortex as well, but Raethr could release the air somewhere else.
Lord Bunnies

Air is a gas, if you sucked up the air around somebody, more air would just take its place. There would always be air, it would just be constantly moving.
Lord Storms

Must I repost the quote?
Colonel Banryx

No, Bondage isn't into it, so he doesn't understand. He just likes getting technical.
General Ceyrox

Who cares how it happens, we don't know how a mask makes you fly, but it does. And Storms, don't post the quote:
1) Greg's an idiot
2) Just because all of our physics doesn't aooly, doesn't mean none of it does.
Lord Storms

1. He's smarter than you.
2. But many obviously don't.  Therefore, we have a fair amount of freedom.  Remember, this is Science-Fantasy, not Science-Fiction.
Colonel Banryx

We know, Storms. Although I tend to doubt Greg is MUCH smarter than me, since the only difference is four years of education, and education is more advanced today than it was in his time, and he plays WOW, and his writing is mediocre at best.
Lord Storms

1. That's rather arrogant, and would mean I'm about as smart as him, seeing as we have roughly the same IQ.
2. So? WOW's not bad.
3. His writing better than mediocre.
Dread Abyss

I'm going to ignore this Greg argument seeing as my acknowledgement of if will only cause further bickering.

Even though the air would be constantly trying to take back its place, the vortex would keep one area devoid of air, which should be closest to the person. Though I was wrong about the levitation thing, Raethr wouldn't be able to lift them up whilst choking.
Colonel Banryx

Just suck the air out of the area. It seems like a better solution.

I don't want to go into that much, but...
1) I'm just stating what is frankly pretty obvious.
2) I didn't say WOWs that bad. It's just addictive and more for kids. Adults who play it are, how should I say, a little pathetic. Adults shouldn't waste time playing teenager's games.
3) Oh, no it is not.
Lord Storms

1. We're unusually smart, so...
2. He's not addicted to it, that much is clear.  He's mentioned he rarely plays.  Besides, you're a teenager who plays with BIONICLEs, so you can't criticisize for that.
3. How good his writing is completely subjective, so we won't get anywhere here, since neither of us are Oxford literary teachers.
Colonel Banryx

1) Sure, but still
2) But it's still a sad concept. And I don't really use them that much. Only when Abyss is over. And people I tell at school don't mind.
3) I suppose it is, but I definately wouldn't read his books if I weren't a Bionicle fan.
Lord Storms

1. It's pathetic how stupid most Americans are.
2. I don't see how it's sad.
3. I would.
Dread Abyss

Isn't that a little racist, Storms?
Why would you read a book about Bionicles if you aren't interested in Bionicles?
Lord Storms

No, Americans aren't a race (yet).

And Greg's written other books that aren't BIONICLE.
Colonel Banryx

The term "racist" doesn't necessarily apply to an ethnicicity, but a culture. And Americans are a culture. Although a better word would probably be prejudice.

But he's restricted in the Bionicle Franchise.
Lord Storms

Well, I'm a bit disapointed in my people (although things are getting better), then.

What do you mean?
General Ceyrox

Actually, a great amount of contributions to science were done by Americans.
Lord Storms

In the past.  I'm talking about us.
Colonel Banryx

Well, OUR generation hasn't really taken flight yet.

As in, he may be a good writer sometimes, but his Bionicle writing is mediocre because he can't make up his own story or change things to his liking. So, if it's not good reading, why would you want to read something you're not interested in?
Lord Storms

Because I consider it good reading.
