Core War Contest

Hey there everyone!

As you may know, the Core War contest is currently ongoing.  Is anyone else interested in entering?  I'm writing a entry for it when I have time.  If you would like me to post it, I will.

If anyone else would like to post their entries so we can review them before submitting them, this is the place to do so!
Heartless Banryx

Eh, I kinda gave up on Bionicle after its story went so downhill.
Lord Storms

I disagree.  (Not that that's particularly new, lol).

Anyway, are you gonna at least vote?
Lord Duality

The story went down hill the second they uttered the word Morbuzahk
Heartless Banryx

Nah, the story went downhill when Mata Nui ended up being the MU because the spiritualism died and the originality of heroes with elemental powers and the mysteries were answered. Its not really anyones fault, though, you could either leave mysteries unanswered which would piss people off or you can answer them, but answers are never as good as the mystery.

Also, Bionicle went downhill when the sets stopped being creative, say, 2007-ish.
General Ceyrox

I agree. I haven't been on BZpower since May, so I'm not too up to date on the story, and '09 does have some potential, but I'm not really too into it.

I guess you can blame Elder Scrolls IV for my loss of liking Bionicle, as soon as I got that game that's all I ever did until I lost complete interest in Bionicle.
Lord Duality

Eh, I did not like the Morbuzzahk, after the Rahkshi he was kind of... lame.

I liked The whole Web of Shadows thing.... But... Well.... Morbuzzahk was a killer.

All misspellings I blame on society... genetics... and the economy.
Heartless Banryx

Well Morbuzakah really weren't a part of the story too much, just involving the Great Disks.
Dread Abyss

I don't even know what this contest's about.

The Morbuzakh weren't so bad, they were basically filler material. Same with the Hordikah, though they took up more time... At least the Visorak were fun. My problem with the story was not that it became predictable, but that it became ridiculous; I.e. Makuta suddenly has the power to swap spirits with a giant robot.
Lord Duality

....lolwut?

I liked the Rahkshi, I did not see them as filler. Visorak was fun.

But the final nail was the Inika...
Heartless Banryx

I liked the Inika.
Lord Storms

So did I.

Well, I got used to them, anyway.  At first, they almost killed it for me.

That's probably around the time I stopped paying attention to the story. lol. The heroes-underwater plot didn't appeal to me at all. I really didn't like the fact that Mataro died..
Lord Duality

MATORO DIED!!!

Ugh... he was my favorite character... I was so trhilled when he was going to become an inika.
Dread Abyss

*snickers* So many people liked who he was, but no one seemed to notice that he became an irritating, dull character upon transforming into an Inika. I was hoping all of the Inika would die, alas my request only came 1/6th true.
Lord Storms

I really loved Matoro.  He even replaced Kopaka as my favorite BIONICLE character.  But when I interrogated Greg about why Matoro died I had to agree that it was a good choice.
Lord Duality

The only Inika I ever got was Matoro because I loved his matoran character. Nwever knew what happened to him. I tried to read the comics/play the games... but they were rather dull and boring.
Lord Storms

Matoro ended up being the one destined to use the Mask of Life to stop Mata Nui from dying (or, as it ended up, bring Mata Nui back to life).  However, Matoro had to die in order to accomplish this.
Lord Duality

Oh yeah... heardb out that. Sad.
Heartless Banryx

Eh, no love lost for Matoro. He was originally one of my favorites because he was the first matoran in the series, but man, Greg ruined most peoples personalities. All heroes had the same personality, all villains had the same personality, the only good one was Krika, who was different enough to be an exception. Plus everybody yells horrible puns! Tahu and Lewa's personality's completely molded into copies of Gali and Pohatus, and Kopaka was no longer uncaring, they made him just a normal toa.
Lord Storms

Greg wasn't neccessarily the one who said that the Toa Nuva were supposed to have matured.  That could've been a story team decision.
Heartless Banryx

They could have matured and still had distinct personalities. But if you take any dialogue and don't put who said it, then you really couldn't tell who said it, because they all sound the same.
General Ceyrox

And the puns! I don't care how united they are, in 2001 Kopaka would never have said puns. And Greg's too lazy to write Treespeak anymore, there was so much originally.
