Everyone MUST read the Iliad, Aeneid, and the Conquest of Gaul.
Lord Duality
Frankenstein is really good.
Lord Storms
I'll have to read it sometime.
Lord Duality
One of my favorite parts is where they blame a maid for murder.
You'll get it when you get there.
Dread Abyss
Anyone read Of Mice and Men, The Road, or The Narrative Of the Life Of Frederick Douglass?
Lord Storms
Not me.
Baron Loki
I've read 'Of Mice and Men'.
Lord Duality
Nope. :spleen:

Did you like it? I thought it was one of the best books I read, even though it was short.
Baron Loki
Yeah, it was fairly good.
Brilliant Gort
Has anyone, besides Abyss, read the Deltora Quest books? They were my favorite books of all time!
Gort said were!
Lord Duality
I loved those. Emphasis on loved.
After a while it just wasn't good enough to compare to the other books I've read.
Lokis read them to.
Dread Abyss
Yeah, they were really good books at the time.
Though the name "Shadow Lord" was a tad cliche.:Christmassarcasm:
Lord Duality
Just a tad.
Lord Storms
I used to be obsessed with those!
I read every sequel, the prequel, and the book of monters.
Dread Abyss
Same here, I love the vraal.
Lord Storms
Yes. They were cool.
Dread Abyss
I was surprised how little they were in the books.
I also liked the Wenbar (giant monster thing from the first book, it's Gort's favorite).
Lord Duality
I read the first series. The second (cept for the last one) and the 3rd.
I read the book of monsters to, It was pretty cool.
My favorite monsters were the Ols (spelling) Grippers, And blood lillies.
Lord Storms
My favs were the drags.
Dread Abyss
I also liked the dragons, but the vraal were more creative in my opinion.
They had hooves!
Brilliant Gort
The vraal are definately some of my top favorite creatures/beasts/monsters.
Gort also liked the dragons, but Gort can't resist a hooved lizard thing!
Lord Duality
Ols, Ols, Ols!!!
Vraal were also pretty wicked though. But I think they only appeared once in the series.
Dread Abyss
One ambushes them in the first series, it's pretty quick. Another appears in the shadowlands and kills some guards.
Lord Duality
I forgot about the first one.
My favorite villain was the Grade 3 Ol who pretended to be the heir to the thrown.
Lord Storms
Dain? Yeah, he was an interesting character.
My favorite character overall was Lief, but Doom was also pretty dang cool.
Lord Duality
The main character was pretty nice. (was he Lief?)
Barda was cool to.
My favorite book was the topaz, diamond, lapiz lazuli, and the ruby.
Ruby had some cool villains. Diamond was freaky. Lapiz Lazuli was kind of cool. Topaz was a great opening.
Lord Storms
Lief was the main character, yes.
Lord Duality
See, I've forgotten a lot of it.
Dread Abyss
Anyone read the Discworld series?
Lord Storms
Not me.
Baron Loki
Deltora Quest was REALLY easy...
Lord Duality
It was still fun way back when.
((I want to be a mod of the Book Forum)) ((Loki can Vouch for me))
Lord Storms
Loki should be the "Lobbying Master."
Brilliant Gort
Agreed, Liko should be the lobbying master. Has anyone read Of Mice And Men?
Gort doesn't know who Liko is!
Dread Abyss
Has anyone read The Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglass? How about The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and/or Tom Sawyer?
Has anyone read The Road?

I liked it after
Spoiler:
Injun Joe killed the doctor
Foremicoh
I hated that book... although I did enjoy children hard at work with their shirts off...
Baron Loki
I've read Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
Dread Abyss
Cool, I found out I like books that take place in the past. Right now I'm reading The Killer Angels, a novel about the Civil War.
Brilliant Gort
I've read Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. They were two really good books.
Gort does not know about The Killer Angels or The Road!
Dread Abyss
The Killer Angels is a book about the battle at Gettysburg and is partly fiction. The Road is a post-apocalyptic novel about a father and his son surviving, VERY dark.
General Ceyrox
I started to read Tom Sawyer, but I got bored.
Lord Duality
Okay, I am part of a classics book club with Loki and it's my turn to pick a book.
Someone give me a good classic.
Dread Abyss
The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara.
Or Of Mice And Men, it's short and it's a great book! Though it has a pretty sad ending.
Lord Storms
The Source by James Michener.
Uber NeoSeeker
The Republic by Plato.
General Ceyrox
What classifys something of being classic?
Lord Storms
You know what,I really don't know...
Colonel Banryx
Did you know Shakespeare was the first person to call a woman hot?
Dread Abyss
Wow... Cool!
Does The Old Man and the Sea count as classic? Nevertheless it's a good book.
Colonel Banryx
Probably.
Yeah, its true. But he didn't say "You're hot!", he said "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?".
Dread Abyss
Cool. It was odd at first, but it got better.
Ah, I see.
Colonel Banryx
Yes, I think tis quite comparable with thee nature of Scruffy the Janitor. (It's funny)
Lord Duality

(I think, I maye be wrong) That is means that the book withstands the tests of time. That is is still read years after the author died.
Dread Abyss
Indeed. Has anyone read any books by John Steinbeck? He's one of my favorite authors, and so far I've read The Red Pony, Of Mice and Men, and Cannery Row. Hopefully I can read The Grapes of Wrath too ths year.
Lord Duality
I had to read Of Mice and Men over the summer. I enjoyed it...
Dread Abyss
Excellent, Of Mice and Men is a great book. Tragic though it is, it's still my favorite of his books.
Lord Duality
I loved the ending. Best Part of the Book.
Dread Abyss
Indeed; Steinbeck can really reach his readers emotionally.
I've been reading a lot of books lately, as both schoolwork and my own personal interest. In fact I finished Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? two days ago.
